Kate was living in a dilapidated house under the care of a drug addict who, as well as mistreating her, tied an iron around her neck, which ended up corroding her skin and staying inside the flesh. She arrived to us terrified and frightened of people. A volunteer invested all her time to gain Kate’s trust which had a happy ending with Kate being adopted into a loving family.
