Fire-Fighting & Prevention Facilities

The noise abatemant activities have had to be temporarily suspended in order for us to conduct large scale undergrowth clearance in and around the shelter plus the installation of a private fire-fighting facility. Portugal is extremely susceptible to summer brush and forest fires and Cabanita is located in an at-risk area. This is a time consuming and expensive project (approximately €40,000) but absolutely essential.
